Email Safety

Protect your password
Do not use your email password to sign up for accounts on other websites. If the other site is compromised, your email account could be at risk.

Click with caution
Do not click on links or open attachments in emails received from people you don’t know or trust. Typically those links are attachments and will contain viruses.

Change it up
It is good practice to change your email password every 60-90 days. Choose a password that is at least 8 characters and includes numbers and symbols.

Update your antivirus software
Your antivirus software & computer operating system will have regular updates you need to install. Keeping these up-to-date will help prevent email security issues.

Ensure you log out
Anytime you use a public computer be sure to log out of your email account. If you forget, log into your account and change your password immediately.
